Safety First!

Your safety is paramount when working through this course and practicing horse handling. Please ensure the following:

• Address any behavioural issues or concerns with your horse by scheduling a comprehensive veterinary exam to ensure no injury or illness before starting this course.
• Wear suitable clothing and footwear for handling horses.
• Make sure all tack is correctly fitted, well-maintained, and securely fastened.
• Stay aware of your surroundings and adjust your activities as needed to avoid any hazards or distractions.
• Ensure you never wrap the rope around your hand, arm, or body, to avoid being dragged as this could lead to injury.
• All activities in this course can be performed using Protected Contact, which means working from behind a fence, gate, or barrier. To ensure your safety, food can be delivered under or over the Protected Contact.

Safety is the top priority when working with horses. Stay vigilant and take all necessary precautions.
